Charitable objects
A. To provide lectures on accountancy and related subjects for instruction of the public; b. To provide lectures on accountancy and related subjects for the instruction of persons engaged or desiring to engage in the profession of accounancy; c. To fund research in the field of accounting and economics provided that the useful results of such research shall be disseminated; d. To award prizes in the name of r. J Weston deceased to students of particular merit who are recommended to by worthy of prizes by the institute of chartered accountants in England and Wales and who have served under a training contract in accountancy within the area represented by the derby society of the said institute; e. To establish and maintain a library and reading room specialising in the subject of accountancy in the city of derby provided that members of general public as well as persons engaged in the profession of accountancy shall be admitted free of charge.
