Search terms and filters are sent to OpenGrant when you search or call the public API. Avoid putting confidential information in a URL or search query.

If you sign in, OpenGrant stores your email address, a short-lived sign-in link and a secure session cookie. Subscription status and a Stripe customer reference are kept to manage paid access. Checkout and billing are handled by Stripe. A sign-in email is sent through Resend.

Saved searches are stored in your browser's local storage. You can remove them on the saved searches page or clear this site's browser storage.

Outreach to charities

We may use publicly listed professional contact details to tell a charity about OpenGrant's grant search. We collect the charity name and registration number, its website domain, a published team or work email address, links to the public sources, and a minimal record of our contact and any reply or objection. Sources include official charity registers and the charity's own website. We do not buy contact lists or infer email addresses.

For relevant corporate charities, our lawful basis for using professional contact details is our legitimate interest in introducing a grant search service that may be useful to their funding work. We assess relevance and the effect on recipients before contacting them. We use the details to prepare and send a limited, tailored email, avoid repeat outreach, and honour objections. Our email provider processes messages sent through it. We do not use this information for automated decisions about individuals.

You can object to outreach at any time by replying to the message or emailing info@opengrant.co.uk. We will stop marketing to you and keep only the details needed to respect your objection. We review other outreach records after 12 months and delete them when they are no longer needed. You can also ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, or complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
