## Charitable objects

> For the public benefit to relieve sickness and promote and protect good health in the county of Devon, including the areas administered by Devon county council, Plymouth city council and Torbay council andsuch other areas as the trustees shall think fit, by promoting or assisting in the promotion of research into medicine, surgery and allied subjects (the subjects) in particular but not exclusively by:(a) Assisting with costs and expenses of maintenance, equipping and operating schools, research laboratories, libraries and other institutions(b) The provision of scholarships(c) Assisting towards the fees or expenses towards study or research provided the useful results of such research are disseminated to the public(d) The provision of funds to promote, encourage, extend and improve knowledge of the subjects and their practical application(e) Assistance with the costs of printing, publishing, circulating or otherwise spreading information arising from any lecture, research or investigation to promote and extend knowledge in the subjects and their practical application.
